Sunday 28-04-24, SBT-Championship series, Round 2, Newcastleton

The second round of the 2024 Scottish Bike Trial Championship is taking place on the 28th of April at Newcastleton.

Please complete the SBT Entry Form accessible by clicking the following link: SBT Entry Form R2 Newcastleton.

Once the SBT Entry Form is submitted please then pay bia the Bike Trial Federation online payment system: BTF Events Entry

Make sure to go to ‘Cart’ to complete the transaction.

The SBT-Entry Form should be submitted before midnight Thursday 25th of April 2024 accompanied by the £15 payment per participant made through the BTF site. Entry thereafter and on the day will be £20 per participant.

TEA Rides - Thursday Evenings Adults only trials session at Drumclog

Now that the clocks have changed, we are going continue running a session for adults, only it will include what is available outside. Youth riders who rode intermediate or above in 2023 comps are welcome to come along as well. It will simply be a case of signing-on on the night. There is a specific WhatsApp Group ‘TEA Ride’ anyone wishing to take part on Thursdays please ask David to add you to this group. The sessions will run from 18:30 - 21:00 for any whatsapp group TEA Ride members.

Sign-on sheet will be available on the evening.

Sunday(17-03-24), SBT-Scottish Series Round 1-Kinlochleven

The first round of the 2024 Scottish Bike Trial Championship is taking place on the 17th of March! The event shall take place at ‘The Mound’ in Kinlochleven, Further location details on the form linked below and here is a pin.

Sunday(05-11-23), SBT-Scottish Series Round 5-Bob Macgregors Trial Academy

The fifth round of the 2023 Scottish Bike Trial Championship is taking place on the 5th of November at Bob Macgregor’s Trial Academy.

Sunday 24-09-23, SBT-Championship series, Round 4, Newcastelton

The fourth round of the 2023 Scottish Bike Trial Championship is taking place on the 24th of September at Newcastleton. Further location details on the form linked below and here is a pin.

Form must be completed and submited by midnight Thursday 21st of September 2023 to enter. Payment should be made direct to the club at the time of submitting the form. Cost of entry: £15 for members and £17.50 for non-members, all welcome. Any entry made after this time or on the day will cost £20.00.

Should you wish to become a member, £10 per annum for an adult and £5 per annum for U18. Link to membership form here.

The event will start at 10.30am (Sign On from 9.30am Pre Trial Briefing 10.15am).

Sunday(11-06-23), SBT-Scottish Series Round 3-Bob Macgregors Trial Academy

The third round of the 2023 Scottish Bike Trial Championship is taking place on the 11th of June at Bob Macgregor’s Trial Academy. Further location details will be on the entry form in due course. A link will be added here when the entry opens. This will also be a round of the British National Trials Cup.

As this is a round in the National Trials Cup entry will be via Biketrial Federation, tickets will be sold on their events page. Tickets should be available from the 18th of May. Link to the Biketrial Federation site will be provided in the next couple of days.

For Scottish Biketrial members entering the National Trials Cup we will automatically enter you for round 3 of the Scottish series.

North Lanarkshire Council’s Intro to trials session taking place on Sunday 19th of February, 13:00 - 14:30 at Strathclyde Park.

Location: Just above the pump track at the new multi disciplinary cycling facility, Bellshill entrance to Strathclyde Park. (Adjacent to Bellshill Golf Club).

Wearing a helmet is required and further event details can be found on the sign up form.

2-day event (Please note you can do either day or both).

Day 1 – Afternoon practice plus fun self-observed “trials lines”. Kevin will set a number of lines with optional gates, score yourself depending on which line you take. We are hoping the moto trials guys at Bob MacGregors on the Saturday might also give this a go. Looking forward to a fun afternoon. No SBT cost for this session, but riders are expected to take out a day membership with Bob MacGregors if not already a member of the Trials Academy.

Day 2 – SBT Trial – Sign on from 9.00 Rider briefing 10.15 Trial Start time – 10.30

There will be 4 routes, White / Green / Blue / Red. Scoring will be to the new positive scoring system, however White & Green riders will be allowed to use bash and pedal…….Blue & Red will ride “UCI”

Watch social media space, there is an outside chance a Yellow route will be set if entries merit it. Currently a limited number of Elite riders have confirmed attendance and unless some more decide to travel we may just introduce some “interesting” gates towards the end of Red sections.

If you are riding in the trial on the Sunday - entry and payment must be processed in advance of the weekend. Entries will close on Thursday the 28th at the latest but be a pal / do us a favour and just get the entries in so that we can get all the paperwork complete – Thanks

This is by popular demand after everyone had a great time at Peebles a few weeks ago, hoping that we come away from this one having had just as good a time or better. (That said you are onto plumbs for another one before 2022, so make the most of this one)

Join Alan Hunter and R-Evolve for a trials jam and some peer-to-peer fun on bikes. Even better…..indoors, so no worries as to what the weather is doing.

The Friday evening session is aimed at 14 years and up, the Saturday morning at those under 14, but no hard and fast rule.

For the U13s parents must remain at the Hall throughout the session. Parents of those 13 and up have the choice but are welcome to remain…..you might even want to join in and give it a go yourself.

Two open sessions coming up at Drumclog following the recent barn clearance and setting up for some indoor riding. One this coming Sunday and the other on the Tuesday of the school holiday week.

Friday and Saturday (17-09-21 & 18-09-21)Come Try Sessions

Come Try Sessions - At Tweedlove Bike Festival on the 17th and 18th of September, come to the section adjacent to the event village and give trials a go. We will have some kids bikes and possibly one adult bike to let you try a discipline specific bicycle, you will need your own helmet and shin guards are advisable. To take part the following two forms must be completed in advance of participating (can be done immediately prior to participating on any smart phone).

Sunday (27-09-20) - Under 12s Coaching Session + Open Jam Session

Coaching will be available exclusively for under 12s from 13:00 - 15:00 on Sunday the 27th. Access will be made available to all ages from 15:30 - 17:30 for the open jam session. Please email david@scottishbiketrial.co.uk to receive the necessary forms to attend.
